Work and play
InZero Systems has introduced its WorkPlay Tablet™, an Android tablet with two hardware-separated operating systems. One operating system is called the WorkZone, while the other is called the PlayZone. The two operating systems do not share resources that could cause cross-contamination, and the operating code in one system cannot access the other. InZero offers firmware-embedded mobile device management, designed for maximum IT administrative control in a zone. Switching between Zones takes a few seconds by touching a switch icon. The Tablet also embodies additional security features, such as AES256 encryption and a secure boot. The WorkPlay Technology™ can be adapted to mobile devices using CPUs with Trustzone technology.
A curve in smartphone technology
The new LG G Flex flexible, curved smartphone is said to redefine the shape of cell phones – literally. OtterBox® has announced availability of the Defender Series® and Commuter Series® for LG G Flex. The Defender Series features a built-in screen protector, polycarbonate shell and shock-absorbing slip cover to protect against scratches, dust and drops. The Commuter Series features a self-adhering screen protector, a synthetic rubber mid-layer and a polycarbonate shell. Both case options are available now in a variety of color combinations.
Tablets are in
Global tablet shipments reached 227 million units in 2013 compared to 182 million PC shipments, meaning the tablet platform out-shipped the mobile PC for the first time, according to Strategy Analytics. (Shipments refer to sell-in, and the definition of a tablet does not include e-book readers or convertible PCs.)
