PSS World Medical acquires Blue Medical Supply & Equipment
Jacksonville, Fla.-based PSS World Medical acquired Jacksonville, Fla.-based Blue Medical Supply & Equipment Inc., a supply-chain solutions company of consumable medical and surgical supplies, diagnostic equipment, and pharmaceutical-related products. Additional details, including terms of the sale, were not disclosed.
Tarheel Physicians Supply adds Hill to sales force
Wilmington Hospital Supply, the parent company of Tarheel Physicians Supply, announced that Ronald Hill has accepted a new sales position within TPS to grow sales in Wilmington and surrounding counties. “We are thrilled to have Ron join our team,” says Matt Wright, President of Tarheel Physicians Supply. “Ron’s character, competitiveness, and work ethic are a great fit for TPS and will make him successful in this industry.”
Alfa Wassermann announces President’s Club winners
West Caldwell, N.J.-based Alfa Wassermann Diagnostic Technologies, a manufacturer of clinical chemistry analyzers for the POL, announced its 2011 President’s Club winners. Phil Krall and David Christy, business development managers in the North Central and Mid-South regions, were recognized for their achievement at the company’s recent national sales meeting. Both are two-time recipients of this award. President’s Club is the highest honor awarded to the top sales representatives for each calendar year.
Covidien names new president of vascular therapies division
Mansfield, Mass.-based Covidien appointed Stacy Enxing Seng as president of the company’s Vascular Therapies Global Business Unit. She will be responsible for managing a global organization of 4,000 employees with $1.4 billion in revenue. She joined Covidien in July 2010 through the ev3 acquisition, where she was a founding member and executive officer responsible for leading ev3’s Peripheral Vascular Division.
Gucciardi and Hendricks assume chief officer posts at Welch Allyn
Welch Allyn announced Scott Gucciardi has been named executive vice president & chief marketing officer, and Karen Hendricks has been appointed executive vice president & chief new product development and technology officer. Together, the two bring more than 50 years of industry experience to the positions, including 30 years at the company. As chief marketing officer, Gucciardi will lead the global marketing function and bring together a customer-focused organization that will drive the company’s product strategy. In the role of chief new product development and technology officer, Hendricks will lead the execution of research and development, including state-of-the-art sensor and hardware design, complementary software development, efficient integration of third-party partners, health IT connectivity capabilities, and support enabled by a remote service system. Gucciardi and Hendricks will report directly to Welch Allyn President and CEO, Julie Shimer.
