MDSI names Scott Adams corporate VP
Norcross, Ga.-based MDSI has named Scott Adams its corporate vice president. As corporate VP, his responsibilities will include executive level collaboration with current and new customers, identifying growth opportunities as well as improving and expanding the MDSI distribution product offerings. Prior to joining MDSI, Adams worked for National Distribution & Contracting Inc. (NDC) (Nashville, Tenn.) as its Western regional managing director, and was managing director of the ABCO Dealers before it combined with CIDA and StarLine to exist as one organization (NDC) in May 2008. Prior to NDC, Adams headed up Sempermed USA Inc.'s (Clearwater, Fla.) primary care sales team.
Henry Schein appoints South VP, corporate finance
Melville, N.Y.-based Henry Schein, Inc. announced that Ronald South has been appointed VP, corporate finance. In his new role, South will be responsible for the management of corporate accounting, corporate taxation, corporate financial planning and analysis. Prior to joining Henry Schein, South worked at Bristol-Myers Squibb as general auditor and as VP of finance for Bristol-Myers Squibb's Cardiovascular/Metabolics division in the United States. He also worked as director of corporate auditing at PepsiCo and held various senior level audit positions at Price Waterhouse LLP in the United States and Europe. South is a certified public accountant. He received a bachelor's degrees in accounting and business administration from Illinois State University.
MDG names Sheldon diagnostics account manager
Gardena, Calif.-based Midmark Diagnostics Group (MDG) appointed Kristofer Sheldon as digital diagnostics account manager, serving Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Sheldon, as part of MDG's sales force, is responsible for fostering new business prospects through MDG's distribution partners. Sheldon will drive sales opportunities in the emerging Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Electronic Health Records (EHR) and digital device markets for MDG's IQmark® digital devices (ECG, Spirometry, Holter and Stress). He will report directly to Jeff Daner, eastern region sales manager for MDG. Sheldon has an extensive background in sales and marketing, specific to the healthcare industry. Prior to joining Midmark, he was a regional account manager in Florida for Caltech® Industries, Inc. infection control products. Sheldon received a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in economics from Towson University in Maryland.
Terumo names new territory managers
Terumo Medical Products named two new territory managers - Josh Kelly and Mimi Hobson. Kelly was appointed territory manager responsible for the states of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Montana. Kelly, who currently resides in Bothell, Wash., with his wife and two children, joined Terumo with nearly 10 years sales experience in industrial business.
Hobson was appointed territory manager responsible for Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas and Louisiana. Hobson has extensive healthcare experience related to sales and business development from her time at Medical Products, a current distributor of Terumo products, and most recently as an office manager for a family practice physician's office in her home town of Ripley, Miss.
Cardiac Science names Krusor as marketing manager
Bothell, Wash.-based Cardiac Science Corp. added Blaine Krusor as clinical marketing manager. He will be responsible for delivering clinical sales tools and materials to customers and sales teams, as well as identifying clinical trends that have significant business impact to the organization. Prior to joining Cardiac Science, Krusor worked at Boston Scientific Corp. (Natick, Mass.) and Guidant in key clinical support and training roles.
Schaefer named as president of CSA Medical
Baltimore, Md.-based CSA Medical Inc. promoted Steven E. Schaefer to the position of president. He has served as CFO since November 2006. Schaefer joined CSA Medical with a background in finance, marketing, business development and sales leadership.
AmerisourceBergen names Gochnauer to board
Chesterbrook, Pa.-based AmerisourceBergen Corp. named Richard W. Gochnauer to its board of directors, effective immediately. The election increases the number of AmerisourceBergen directors from eight to nine. Gochnauer has been president and CEO and a director of United Stationers (Deerfield, Ill). From 1994 to 2002, he served as president and COO and vice chairman and president, international of Golden State Foods Corp. (Irvine, Calif.)
Kreisers opens new distribution center
Kreisers, Inc. has opened a second distribution center in Billings, Mont., and began servicing customers in June. This brings the number of warehouse locations for Kreisers to seven. This center is designed to service the Billings Clinic IDN for whom Kreisers was just awarded a five-year prime vendor contract. Kreisers is also working on a distribution alliance to extend the service footprint of this facility to other hospitals in the region. The center is approximately 25,000 square feet and has potential room for expansion.
