Metrex Names Norbe VP of Sales and Marketing



Metrex, a division of Sybron Dental Specialties and a manufacturer of high-quality infection prevention products, recently promoted Todd Norbe to the position of vice president of sales and marketing.





Baum Receives Philanthropic Award

John C. Baum, president of W. A. Baum Co. Inc., was recently honored by the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center of West Islip, N.Y. Baum is the recipient of the 2003 Samaritan Award for his 30 years of dedicated service to the Good Samaritan family. As a member of its board of trustees, Baum has served on nearly every one of the medical centerís subcommittees. He currently serves as chairman of the performance improvement committee, the executive and human resources committees, and the medical board subcommittees, credentials and staff evaluation.

In addition to Baumís professional duties at W.A. Baum, he generously spends his time and resources to assure that the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center continues to deliver quality healthcare with dignity and compassion. Repertoire salutes Baum for his philanthropic endeavors.





Pedigo Names Kimball Region Vice President



Kimball brings to Pedigo more than 25 years of healthcare sales experience. Since 2001, he has served as eastern regional sales director for Dornoch Medical Systems.

Aircast Appoints New President and Announces New General Counsel Position Summit, N.J.-based Aircast Inc., which provides the medical community with high quality, cost-effective orthopedic and vascular systems, an-nounces the promotion of Thomas A. Crowley Jr. to the position of president and chief operating officer. Since May 2003, Crowley has been the COO of Aircast.

He has a broad range of general management healthcare experience that spans more than 25 years in companies including Hoffman La-Roche and Becton-Dickinson.

Aircast also announces the hiring of H. William Devitt III to the new position of general counsel. Devitt will report directly to Crowley. Devittís career spans 18 years in both finance and law. He has held such positions as treasurer/in-house counsel with Myron Corporation, director of corporate finance for Tommy Hilfiger Inc., treasurer of AIHL Investment Group, and director of treasury and finance for Saks Fifth Avenue.



Metrex Hires New Rep



Metrex recently hired Timothy Bill to cover territories in Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky. He comes to Metrex from a medical device company with one-and-a-half years of experience selling surgical implants.



Mitsubishi Hires General Manager for New Healthcare Diagnostics Unit



Mitsubishi Chemical America (MCA), the U.S. subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, has announced the establishment of a new healthcare diagnostics business unit to market a new automated chemistry analyzer into hospitals, physician offices and laboratories. This equipment will provide enhanced detection for cardiac markers, fertility and toxicology, especially for levels of commonly abused drugs. The new business will also marketliquid chemistry reagents to OEM customers.

Les Grove has been named general manager of Healthcare Diagnostics for MCA and will be responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing and regulatory compliance for products targeted for the North American market. Most recently, Grove served as the global vice president of sales/marketing for GDS Technology in Elkhart, Ind. GDS manufactured and distributed point-of-care products and OEM liquid chemistry reagents as well as providing bio-processing and fermentation services on a global basis.





Fujirebio Diagnostics Names Touhey New President/COO

Malvern, Pa.-based Fujirebio Diagnostics, Inc. (FDI), a world leader in cancer diagnostics, has announced the promotion of Paul T. Touhey Jr. to president and chief operating officer.

Touhey began his career with FDI, formerly the Diagnostics Division for Centocor, in 1985. He has held a number of positions with FDI, including his most recent, senior vice president of operations, where he was responsible for the companyís manufacturing business and its growth in the contract-manufacturing sector. Touhey has over 25 years of diagnostic, medical device and biopharmaceutical experience. He is a graduate of Temple University and the former chairman of the board of Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA), where he is still an active member.
