HIDA 2003 $20,000 CASH GIVE-AWAY



HIDA will give-away $20,000 in cash prizes at the 2003 Med/Surg Conference and Expo during exhibit hours on Saturday, October 4. To participate and win, HIDA 2003 attendees will fill out market-specific contest cards by visiting booths, engaging in conversation and getting answers for all the questions on their card. The grand prize for the cash give-away is $10,000; other lucky winners will win $5,000 and $1,000 prizes. Currently, HIDA is developing questions for the contest, and manufacturers are still able to sponsor market-specific “trivia” questions for $1,000 per question, per market card. For a $2,700 sponsorship (a 10 percent discount), manufacturer sponsors are able to ask a question on all three market cards. Each sponsor will receive promotion in Repertoire, on the HIDA Web site and in all show marketing materials. HIDA thanks Andover Coated Products, Beckman Coulter, BD, Burdick, Nestle and Terumo for the question sponsorships to date.

HIDA ADVISORY COUNCILS

HIDA’s advisory councils for the long-term care, hospital and physician markets soon will meet at HIDA headquarters in Alexandria, Va., to discuss the current state of each marketplace. During these important meetings, council members will be briefed on HIDA activities, including HIDA’s work with the CDC on the flu vaccines, with the Senate Judiciary Committee focused on GPOs and with sister organizations on emergency preparedness. Council members also will view HIDA communications, including the new consultative selling tools, the various e-mail newsletters and the 2003 market reports. The first of the council meetings will begin on Friday, Apr. 25, with the long-term care group. The physician and the hospital councils will meet in May and June, respectively.



NEW MASTERS COURSES

HIDA is pleased to announce the availability of seven ADVANCE Sales Training Masters Modules, the next step for those sales professionals who have obtained their Accredited in Medical Sales (AMS) certification. Non-certified sales professionals also can take advantage of the Masters curriculum, which provides in-depth coverage of the topics and issues that affect your business and your customers. The ADVANCE Masters Curriculum currently consists of the following study modules: Legal Issues in Healthcare Sales, Helping Your Customers With HIPAA, Negotiating Skills for Distributor Salespeople, Physician Office Furniture and Lighting, Rapid Diagnostics, Using Reimbursement Knowledge to Make Sales, and Using Technology to Improve Sales Effectiveness. Additional modules will be added to the library on a regular basis. Each Masters module is worth one credit towards the AMS continued education requirement and costs $149. FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE SURVEY
