CATALYSTS EVENTS PROMOTES CATHERINE ROPER TO VP BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Catalyst Events appointed Catherine Roper to Vice President of Business Development for the healthcare division, a newly created position. Roper was formerly Vice President of the annual Trade Show and Meetings for HIDA.


Roper has more than 15 years of experience in meetings and exhibition management with over 10 years in the healthcare distribution industry. Roper also served as the HIDA Strategic Development Program Coordinator.





QUIDEL APPOINTS JONES TO WORLDWIDE MARKETING DIRECTOR
Quidel Corporation announced that Jeffrey Jones will direct the company's worldwide marketing initiatives. Jones has over 12 years of domestic and international sales, marketing and management experience at leading medical firms including Bayer Diagnostics, Boehringer Mannheim Corp and Abbot Laboratories.


Jones joins Quidel from Bayer Diagnostics where, for the last six years, he has held key positions, including, most recently, the role of business manager of new markers and technologies. In that role, Jones was responsible for evaluating, developing and commercializing new markers and technologies in Bayer Dianostics' Nucleic Acid Diagnostics (NAD) Worldwide Business Unit.


Additionally, Jones led the development and coordination of worldwide commercialization sales, distribution and marketing efforts aimed at enhancing the image of the company and its products.


As Director of Worldwide Marketing for Quidel, Jones will develop and direct worldwide marketing and product strategies as well as implementation plans.





QUIDEL APPOINTS VP, REGULATORY/CLINICAL AND QUALITY SYSTEMS
Quidel Corp. announces the appointment of Don A. Kennard to the newly created position of vice president, regulatory/clinical and quality systems.


Kennard has more than 20 years of professional experience in worldwide regulatory and quality systems as well as a successful track record of product approvals and inspections in pharmaceuticals and medical devices.


Kennard joins Quidel after ten years at Nobel Biocare, Inc., Gothenburg, Sweden where he served as vice president R&D, regulatory affairs and quality assurance. During this time Kennard generated greater than 30% of annual sales and served as a key member of the acquisition team that led to a profitable merger.


Prior to joining Nobel Biocare, Inc., Kennard was director of regulatory affairs and quality assurance at Allergan, Inc. and previously held the position of director of quality control at McGaw Laboratories, Inc.


Kennard will be responsible for ensuring that all processes within Quidel are compliant to the current Quality Systems requirements, providing interpretation and direction to project teams on regulation requirements for target countries and for external relationships with worldwide regulatory agencies related to product approvals and quality systems.





MED TECH ASSOCIATES NAMES KELLY REP OF THE YEAR
Med Tech Associates, headquartered in Idaho Springs, Colorado, named Terry Kelly as their sales rep of the year. Kelly covers North and South Carolina for Med Tech. ''Terry did a fantastic job for Med Tech Associates and the companies we represent over this past year,'' said Bill Sparks, president of Med Tech. ''He has a great attitude, has built solid relationships with his distributors, and works long hours. We're pleased to recognize him as our rep of the year.''





MCCUE CORP. APPOINTS KING TO EXEC. VP
McCUE Corp. announces the appointment of Spencer King as Executive Vice President, North America. Ian McCue, President and CEO, said ''Spencer King has a solid background in all aspects of sales and distribution of medical devices in the USA and I am delighted that he has joined us.
