Midmark Appoints Michael Paquin President of Brentwood by Midmark

Midmark Corporation announced that Michael Paquin has been named President of the company's Brentwood by Midmark division. Paquin was formerly the Vice President of Business Development for the company.
Paquin has more than 28 years of experience in the medical industry with 16 years in the field of cardiopulmonary diagnostics. A member of MSHUG and HIMSS, Paquin has been an initiator of Active X integrations for healthcare and medical diagnostic manufacturers. He is an avid believer that the computers used in proprietary medical devices must be opened up to all aspects of medicine
While at Brentwood, Paquin has been successful in winning three industry awards for his product concepts - MSHUG 1999, TEPR 2000 and the renowned Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Product Innovation Award for 2000.
Don Moran Joins Med-Care Associates
Med-Care Associates recently announced the appointment of Dan Moran to its sales team. Dan will cover accounts in CT and Eastern NY. Dan comes to Med-Care from the software sales business. He is a graduate of Providence College and will reside in Manchester, CT.
Med-Care's president, George Soutiere, stated, "With the addition of Dan in our territory, we will provide better coverage for our manufacturer partners." The addition of Dan brings the number of Med-Care sales reps to five in the NE and Upstate NY.
Midmark Appoints Women's Health Product Manager
Midmark Corporation announced the appointment of Jean Hinker as Product Manager - Women's Health Medical Products. Hinker's new role will enable her to focus on women's health issues as they relate to capital and diagnostic equipment. She will be responsible for providing innovative solutions for women's healthcare professionals, allowing them to deliver efficient quality care.
Hinker has been with the Midmark Corporation for 13 years and, most recently, held the title of Product Manager in the company's Technical Assessment Group. She will maintain responsibilities with Midmark's Office of the Future initiative as the Midmark liaison
Cholestech Promotes Stromberg to CIO
Cholestech Corporation announced the appointment of Kevin R. Stromberg as Chief Information Officer, a newly created position. Stromberg has been with the company since April 2000 and has served most recently as Vice President of Operations for WellCheck, Inc., a subsidiary of Cholestech. He will be responsible for setting and implementing strategic long-term goals for company wide information technology and telecommunications. Stromberg will also be responsible for continued development of WellCheck's proprietary Test Event Activity Management Systems software (TEAMS).
Former BD Executive Passes
Al Battaglia, former Group Vice President for Becton Dickinson Co. passed away last week of a heart attack. Al had served on the HIDA Educational Foundation Board of Directors and was a speaker at many HIDA meetings.
Since he had retired from B. D., he had done some consulting and teaching.
Serologicals Names Ingalls CFO
Serologicals Corp. said it has named Harold ''Bud'' Ingalls as its chief financial officer, effective Oct. 26, replacing Peter Rizzo, who left the company at the end of September. Prior to joining Serologicals, Ingalls served various companies as chief financial officer and chief executive officer. Most recently, Ingalls was president and chief executive officer for LaRoche Industries, Inc., a commodity and specialty chemical manufacturer with operations in the United States, France and Germany.
Province Hires Ray as CFO
Hospital operator Province Healthcare Co. announced that Stephen Ray will join the company on Jan. 1, 2002, as its chief financial officer. Ray, who was most recently CFO for FL-based hospital operator Health Management Associates, replaces Richard Gore, who retired as Province Healthcare's CFO in mid-August, according to a spokeswoman for the Brentwood, TN-based company.
Alterra Names Kennedy Interim CEO
Alterra Healthcare Corporation announced the election of Patrick F. Kennedy as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Kennedy, a senior executive and director of Holiday Retirement Corp., is expected to serve as Alterra's Chief Executive Officer through the completion of Alterra's restructuring. Alterra also announced that it has entered into a consulting agreement with Holiday Retirement Consulting Services LLC, an affiliate of Holiday Retirement Corp., pursuant to which the services of Mr. Kennedy as well as other members of Holiday's senior management team will be made available to Alterra
St. Luke's Foundation Names Hickman President and CEO
The Board of Trustees of St. Luke's Hospital Foundation announced the appointment of James H. Hickman Jr. to serve as the foundation's President and Chief Executive Officer. A respected veteran in community health care and a long-time resident of San Francisco, Mr. Hickman served most recently as the Bay Area regional director for Blue Cross of California's State Sponsored Programs business unit, where he directed Medi-Cal and Healthy Families program services for more than 85,000 health plan members in thirteen Bay Area counties.
Kimberly-Clark Health Care Names Bauer President
Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE: KMB) has announced that Joanne B. Bauer has been named president of Kimberly-Clark's Health Care business. Prior to this promotion, Bauer was vice president of global business management for Health Care, a $1 billion unit of Kimberly-Clark.
Bauer joined Kimberly-Clark in 1981 as a marketing assistant and held various marketing positions in Kimberly-Clark's consumer business before moving to Health Care in 1986. In 1993, she was named general manager of the infection control products group for Health Care, where she served until 1996, when she was appointed vice president of Kimfibers in the tissue sector. In September 1997, Bauer returned to Health Care as vice president of integration, overseeing the acquisition of Tecnol Medical Products.
Bauer received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lawrence University and earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin. She is also on the board of ContiCare.
